10-month-old baby weighs 44 pounds!Xiao Lei in China weighs 44 pounds but is only ten months old. He was born quite normal and weighed a healthy 7.7 pounds. However, as the months passed, he started to balloon.

His mother claims that she has only been feeding him breast milk and is unaware of the cause of his extreme weight gain.

Xiao Lei who is now being addressed as ‘Michelin baby’ is now a cause of concern for doctors all over China. Some doctors claim that babies might gain extra weight when parents feed them food whenever they cry even when they are not hungry.

Doctors warn that over-feeding might lead to childhood obesity and further complications like high blood pressure and heart conditions in their later years.

We hope the causes of baby Xiao Lei’s sudden and extreme weight gain be discovered soon. We also wish him a speedy recovery! =)
