YOTEL Singapore is YOTEL’s first hotel in Singapore.

Singaporeans are among the worst sleepers in the world. In fact, on average, Singaporeans clock in just about 6.56 hours of sleep per night, just a little bit more than that by the Japanese and the Indians.

So if an average Singaporean already lags behind when it comes to sleep, how much more an average Singaporean parent?

As parents, we don’t always get enough sleep because… well, that’s our reality. As new parents, we lose sleep because feel compelled to dedicate every available second we have tending to your newborn’s needs. And just when we think we’re done with those sleepless nights when the kids have grown, we lose more sleep worrying about them.

These are just some of the reasons why as parents, sleep-deprived as we mostly are, we know it too well that we could do more with some more sleep. We also know that, yes, we deserve to have a relaxing retreat from time to time.

Luckily, we’ve found just the right place for you (and your family) to check out! This new staycation destination not only allows you to take a break without having to leave the country but also ensures you get to relax, unwind and sleep well.

A standard room configuration is the Premium Queen View Cabin which is perfect whether you’re on business or pleasure.

The bed definitely felt luxurious because of the memory-foam mattress wrapped in pure white linen. But smart features is what makes these beds extra premium. The SmartBed™ allows you to recline to your preferred height—whether to relax, to work, or to sleep—all with just a touch of a button.

As if it’s not yet hard enough to get out of the super comfy bed, you’ll never want to leave the room even more because of the relaxing mood lighting brought by the cabin’s “Technowall.”

And if you do decide to just relax and unwind, you can get started with Mindfresh meditational videos. You can watch them from the room’s 40-inch flat screen.

Invigorating Mindfresh meditation videos can be viewed from the cabin’s smart TV.

But if you don’t want to lay down just yet, you can check out the charming view of Singapore’s Orchard area from the floor-to-ceiling window of the en-suite bathroom. Reminder: Don’t forget to shut the blinds before using the toilet or the shower!

A retreat at the heart of town

Let’s face it. Some nights, no matter how tired we are, or rearing to go to bed, we might still find it hard to catch a wink.

In the unlikely event that this happens when you’re checked in at YOTEL Singapore, there’s no need to worry. You can simply head on to the Club Lounge, aptly named TEN,  on the hotel’s 10th storey. There you can find a variety of the hotel’s amenities like the gym, the outdoor pool and the terrace.

And if you can’t help but check your emails or do some work, you can head to the co-working studio. There, you can find communal working spaces and multiple charge points. It is equipped with free, super-fast wifi so you can be sure get your creative juices working.

But if you’re feeling a little restless and don’t really want to do anything very physical, you can just hang out at Grains & Hops where you can experience contemporary dining in both indoor and outdoor seating, and have a taste of curated craft beers and cocktails. It is also where you can grab your buffet breakfast the next morning.

Pro-tip: Satisfy your thirst and drink up YOTEL Singapore’s own custom-made brew, or their highly recommended cocktail, Red Riding Hood.

Buffet breakfast at Grains & Hops features a spread of international and Asian cuisines, and includes a free flow of freshly brewed coffee and tea.

And because it’s located at Orchard’s premium shopping belt, you will also have easy access to next-door Shaw Centre. Also in the area are some of Singapore’s best-in-class malls like ION Orchard, Tangs Plaza, Ngee Ann City and Wisma Atria, where you can explore more varieties of restaurants, cafes, and of course, shops.
