Gal Gadot proves that she is a real-life Wonder Woman

4 min read
Gal Gadot proves that she is a real-life Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman Gal Gadot stands up for women's rights and shows that she's got what it takes to be a hero both on and off-screen.

Wonder Woman Gal Gadot proves that she is the hero we need right now. The Israeli actress, who stars in two major blockbusters this year with Wonder Woman and Justice League, is a champion for feminism, motherhood and women’s rights in general.

Growing up in Rosh Ha’ayin, Israel, she noticed from a young age that women were treated differently and is now on a mission to see these gender stereotypes addressed.

Both on set and off, we’ve seen that Gal Gadot is a real-life Wonder Woman!

Wonder Woman Gal Gadot refused to let pregnancy slow her down on set

In her first act as a real-life Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot hid her pregnancy from the cast and crew during the early filming days to avoid special treatment.

By the time they were ready to do some final shots, her growing bump was impossible to hide, but she took it in stride.

Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins couldn’t stop singing Gadot’s praises because she was so impressed by her dedication and work ethic, “ “There are so many things we asked her to do: Now do it on one foot. Now shout while you’re doing it. Now it’s raining in the freezing cold and you’ve lost your voice, go. Every day was a hilarious gauntlet and she would do it”.

Wonder Woman Gal Gadot hid her morning sickness during the filming of Justice League

After finding out she was pregnant while shooting Justice League, she again did everything that she could to hide her pregnancy from the Justice League cast and crew. It started with wearing sunglasses at work to help mitigate her horrible migraines, but as it turns out, that was just the beginning.

While doing press for Justice League, she revealed yesterday that she had to go to extensive lengths to hide her morning sickness from the cast and was only able to do so with the help from a very resourceful assistant!

Her morning sickness meant that was having to run off-set and puke frequently during filming, however, she didn’t always have time to get all the way back to her trailer. The assistant’s ingenious solution?

Carry around a bucket, ostensibly for Wonder Woman’s props, but really for Gadot to puke discreetly into. In one situation, the assistant even sang loudly to cover up the sounds of Gadot’s morning sickness!

Wonder Woman Gal Gadot won’t be cowed by negative opinions about her body

When Gal Gadot was first cast in the iconic role as Wonder Woman, some fans were critical saying that she didn’t have a big enough bust for the role.

Anger towards that sexism and misogyny aside, we love that Gadot laughed it off with grace and had the facts on her side,  “I told them, ‘Listen, if you want to be for real, then the Amazons, they had only one boob. Exactly one boob. So what are you talking about here? Me having small boobs and a small ass? That will make all the difference.'”

Wonder Woman Gal Gadot champions the true beauty of motherhood

Mums, next time you’re up all night with the little ones, take heart in the fact that even Wonder Woman has tough nights with the kids as well!

Our hearts swelled with the pride of motherhood seeing Gal Gadot’s #nofilter picture showing the pure beauty of motherhood. The mother-of-two lamented a lost night’s sleep without a hint of bitterness.

Maybe Gal Gadot has some superpowers of her own, when she rather clairvoyantly compared giving birth to feeling like Wonder Woman back in 2011, “It’s cheesy, but I feel like Wonder Woman when I give birth. When you deliver, you feel like you’re a god. Like “Oh my God, I made this.”

Honestly, we can’t agree more with Gadot’s attitudes towards motherhood!
