The Tiktok video she posted gained millions of engagement from the netizens; some were shocked while others were supportive. The short clip eventually garnered about 11.4 million views, 2.8 million likes, and 43.3 thousand comments.
The video starts simple with a text stating, "Excited my boyfriend gets a second chance at life after getting my kidney,"
Afterwards, the woman jumps face-down on the bed with a new text reading "Cheated."
The woman in the video is Colleen, a 30-year-old account executive based in Yorba Linda, California. She met her ex-boyfriend back in 2015.
Shortly after becoming a couple, Colleen decided to donate one of her kidneys to him. At that time, her ex-boyfriend underwent treatment for peritoneal dialysis. He needed it after suffering from kidney failure.
The treatment uses the lining of the abdomen or belly to filter blood inside the body. Doctors and other health care provider identifies it as lining the peritoneum.
The man's kidney function eventually went down to less than 5%. This prompted Colleen to get tested as her then-boyfriend's kidney donor.

"He didn't technically ask me for a kidney but pretty much opened the door for me to get tested," stated Colleen.

Colleen had so much faith in her boyfriend that he would never betray her. Their relationship felt relatively the same until nearly seven months after the operation.
During that time, the guy suddenly visited her after attending an event. He then confessed that he had an affair with another woman.
"My initial reaction was hurt and betrayal," she said. "He was a hardcore Christian and always stuck to his morals throughout our relationship."
Initially, she easily trusted him because of his devout faith. Unfortunately, this made her believe that he was incapable of being unfaithful to her.
Colleen also admitted that she relied too much on her big sacrifice for him. She thought it strengthened their relationship into something more serious. Additionally, she was stunned to discover that he would betray her after everything they went through.
"I felt incredibly backstabbed and taken advantage of," she added.
Despite all the pain Colleen had gone through, she still decided to give their relationship a second chance. During that time, she thought and hoped their relationship would work, but it did not.
Three months later, they had an argument that ended their relationship. The guy was the one who took the initiative to end things.

After the messy breakup, the man blocked Colleen's number and all her social media accounts.
"I really thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with him and loved him so much that I saved his life," she said.
Despite the outcome, Colleen claims she never regretted saving her ex's life. Years after the whole ordeal, she eventually found a new love and talks about him on her TikTok.
