Confident Tech Creators
Our friends over at Create Lab have come up with a program designed to inspire children to become Confident Tech Creators at an early age. The programme also encourages Computational Thinking – a powerful thought process that enhances 21st Century competencies of critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration.
Their programme are developed by world leading academics affiliated with Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD – a collaboration with MIT), Singapore Management University (SMU) and the National Institute of Education (NIE). The curriculums are designed to be broad and immersive where children learn not just to code, but also experience wider aspects of technology through design, interactive robots and unplugged computer science.
They’re hosting a 4 day programme their popular Confident Tech Creators holiday camps that will have 9-12 year olds designing, coding and creating their own computer games and hardware controllers
COURSE DETAILS
Holiday camp, 10 hrs, co-ed
Dates: March 14 to March 17 (daily)
Time: 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm
Ages: 9 – 12 year olds
- Day 1: Learn computer science without computers! Then meet Dash & Dot – robots who’ll help solve puzzles and be your new best friend!
- Day 2: Tell a story, make new friends and be a computer programmer along the way!
- Day 3: Design, draw and create!
- Day 4: Technology is more than a screen and a keyboard. Learn by getting your hands dirty!
