The nation’s fourth night motoring racing season is just around the corner, and “Vroom Vroom Macaron” features the world’s first ever life-sized macaron car. The construction was led by a team of five chefs, and two engineering technicians. The car was completed with the unwavering efforts and dedication from the Royal Plaza team, alongside with the young volunteers from Community Chest Singapore’s Metta School.
Measuring about 4.40 metres long, 1.90 metres wide, and 1.30 metres tall, it provides a eye-catching display with red and white macarons, a visual treat for everyone. Four litres of water, 600 egg whites and 12.5 kilograms of ground almond and icing sugar respectively, were amongst the ingredients that made up the 10,461 macarons for the car.
Ms. Eunice Olsen graced the flag off of the life-sized macaron race car to launch the campaign of “Vroom Vroom Macaron”. Along side were Mr. Patrick Fiat, General Manager of Royal Plaza, and a student representative from Singapore’s Metta School.
The macaron car will be on display at the hotel lobby from 16th August to 25th September 2011. Members of the public will be able to purchase scale-model chocolate race cars at S$29 each, or assorted macarons from Gourmet Carousel, of which S$5 proceeds from each scale-model car sold and 10 percent of the sale of macarons will be donated during the campaign period. These are available from 16 August to 25September 2011.
Members of the public are also invited to join in this celebration by purchasing a S$5 lucky draw ticket, in a charity drive for Metta School. The draw will be conducted on 26 September 2011, where 3 lucky winners will be picked. Attractive prizes such as a two nights weekend stay in Royal Plaza’s Executive Suite inclusive of breakfast for two worth $1360++ and dining voucher for dinner and high tea voucher respectively to dine at the award-winning international buffet restaurant, Carousel.
Apart from celebrating the nation’s fourth year of night racing, let us not forget to do our bit to raise funds for Community Chest Singapore’s Metta School. What are you waiting for? Head on down to Royal Plaza on Scotts today, for a visual and culinary feast.
