1. Dream of having sex with your ex

This dream doesn’t mean that you are still in love with him. Dreaming of getting intimate with your ex- can be a reminder of the happy times you had in your past. Sometimes it can take a long time to actually move on completely from a relationship. However, it can also mean something else.

As Dr Tina B. Tessina, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, explains, dreaming of having sex with your ex is a warning sign! It can mean that your brain is processing something interconnected with your current and past relationship.

Often, first love is associated with passion and excitement. If your current relationship lacks something you crave, your ex is more likely to show up in your dreams! Maybe it is time to spice things up!

2. Dreaming of having sex with same-sex partners

You love your husband, but did you just have this dream about having sex with a girlfriend? Does it mean that you are sexually confused? Or is this normal?

According to Dr Debra Herbenick, sex educator, you still are straight even if you dream of having sex with a same-sex partner. It can simply mean that you are trying to emulate the person you are having sex with. For instance, you are dreaming of having sex with your colleague. It doesn’t mean that you harbour any feelings for her. Instead, it could be indicative of your admiration for her.

So try to evaluate what you like in her. Is she is bold, creative and a top employer? There you go! Dreaming of getting intimate with her can mean that you want to possess those qualities too.

3. Sex with stranger

There can be times when you wake up in the middle of the night and you wonder who that was? Again, you are not alone. Dreaming of having sex with a stranger is quite normal.

For some of you, it can mean that your soulmate is waiting for you. But if you already have one, this dream can mean that maybe you want to explore more.

Sometimes, this stranger can be the embodiment of what you admire in general in opposite sex.

Yes, it can get quite uncomfortable to imagine having sex with your boss. But it can
simply mean that you are in awe of this man’s qualities.

You may want to get closer to your boss, but not in a sexual way! It can mean that you’re career-oriented and you look up to your boss. The quality that draws closer to your boss in your subconscious mind may not be his sex appeal!

5. Sex with celebrity

Your room is filled with posters of your favourite celebrity. You think about him or her 24*7 and so it’s quite natural to be dreaming of getting intimate with them.

Sometimes this dream can mean that you wish to be successful and in the same spotlight as that celebrity. The best way to avoid this is by not thinking about it so much. Instead, enjoy getting close to the person you actually love.

6. Having sex with someone you dislike

Quite a weird dream to have! “Why will I have sex when I hate the person?” you might wonder. But, you will be surprised, that this is another very common dream.

It doesn’t mean that you have an urge to sleep with someone else. It means that your brain is trying to emphasise the traits you dislike. You may want to stay away from such people.

It can also be your subconscious holding on to the hatred that you have for this person. Sexual emotions do not just depend on happy emotions alone. Anger can also induce sexual feelings.

7. Dream of having sex with your best friend

If you are dreaming of having sex with your best friend, don’t fret over it! You guys are already in a very close relationship. The dream can signify that you have developed sexual feelings for your friend.

If you are confused, the best way is to think about it when you are wide awake. Ask yourself, if this is actually what you want? If the answer is “Yes!” then maybe talk to your buddy. If it is a “No!” forget about it and avoid ruining your friendship.

8. Dreaming of having sex with a family member

Eww! But it can happen. Don’t freak out. The subconscious mind does not usually discern between what’s moral or immoral.

Having sex with a family member doesn’t mean that you actually want to get into an incestuous relationship. It can mean that you respect the person in some way or you just love them, a bit more than needed!

9. Dreaming of having sex with your neighbour

Dreams of sex with your hot neighbour doesn’t necessarily mean that you have an urge to sleep with someone else. It can mean that you appreciate his good looks and traits. Maybe your needs aren’t being met by your partner. If you are single, this dream can mean that you hope that your future partner has traits like your neighbour.

If the sex dreams are disturbing you, maybe you can ask yourself a few questions: What’s your first thought about the person you’re dream sleeping with? What do you like the most about their personality? Do you actually want to get into it? Answers to these questions will be indicative of your thoughts for this person.

Sex dreams don’t always mean that you have an urge to sleep with someone else. Therefore, they shouldn’t always be taken literally. Sometimes these dreams are just a one-off subconscious thought. So, there’s no point over-analysing them. In this case, dream it, forget it!
