As parents we don’t want anything bad happening to our children, even as insignificant as an insect bite; just the sight of their red face, swollen from wailing, strikes disproportionate guilt straight through our hearts.
Now imagine seeing your child slipping through a second story window and slamming face-first into the ground. If you think that’s too much, then you can probably not handle watching the CCTV footage below.
At first the footage shows only an empty lot, but a few seconds later a baby enters the frame and slams face-first into the ground.
The baby, identified as Helena Beatrice Nascimento from Brazil, lays there for a few minutes before gingerly gets on all fours and attempts to stand.
Then passersby rushes to her side and begins to comfort her. Soon thereafter, the footage shows the mother bolting out of their house to check on her baby.
According to reports the second floor window from which the the baby fell did not have any bars, and so when Helena Beatrice Nascimento rolled over in her sleep there was no barriers to catch her.
Fortunately, telephone lines broke her fall. Baby Helena was then rushed to the nearest hospital and after a thorough check-up at a nearby hospital, the doctors found no blunt traumas, broken bones, nor internal bleeding, only minor cuts and bruises.
See, moms? Baby-proofing your home is no joke, and could literally make or break your children. It doesn’t hurt to take into consideration the tiniest of details, for example the proximity of your child to open windows and deep recesses.
