Although phase three is just around the corner, it doesn’t mean that we can go all out to be merry just yet. Still, it is heartening to know that there are many places in Singapore that we can still look forward to visiting if staying home becomes too stifling.
Parents, if you’re thinking of where to take the kids this weekend, we suggest two new places to kickstart your foodie adventures: the Jurassic World Café and FLIPPER’S Singapore.
From indulging in dino-themed food to incredibly fluffy soufflé pancakes, the little ones will surely adore you for it!
Jurassic World Café @ ION Sky
There’s just something so captivating about dinosaurs, isn’t it? One which adults and kids alike can’t seem to get enough of.
In the newly opened Jurassic World Café, a F&B pop-up at ION Sky, guests will get to dine amongst the dinosaurs while enjoying an exquisite view of Singapore’s skyline.
Expect jungle-esque decor complete with dinosaurs all over the experiential dining and retail pop-up cafe that’s housed on the 56th floor of ION Sky.
The pop-up cafe that runs from now until through December, also boasts a life-sized and LEGO model of Blue, the velociraptor—something for the little ones to be excited about!
When it comes to the dino-themed dishes inspired by the Jurassic Park franchise, guests can expect no less in terms of their presentation.
For little ones, consider the Fossil Excavation Cake ($16)—one of the dishes that’s raved about. It consists of a sponge cake base and cream topped with crumbled cocoa biscuits, fruits and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
You can also expect dino-themed drinks like the Mosasaurus Soda ($8), an aqua-blue concoction that has a bubblegum flavour with a minty taste.
If you like your drinks the traditional style, while still getting in some of that dinosaur-inspired design for the ‘gram, you can choose from a variety of hot beverages like latte, cappuccino, mocha or even the matcha latte.
They’ll come imprinted on the froth of your selected hot beverage, just like this one.
And while you’re here, don’t forget to check out their photo wall to document the moments spent here with your loved ones, as well as the exclusive merchandise and limited edition collectables available onsite.
From exclusive plushie keychains, card holders to character cushions and lego sets, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Items start from S$6.90.

Fluffy Soufflé Pancakes @ FLIPPER’S Singapore
Light and lovely, yet satisfyingly eggy, here’s a new F&B establishment to get your soufflé pancakes fix!
The iconic Japanese pancake chain FLIPPER’S has opened its flagship store at Takashimaya Shopping Centre on Friday (Nov 6).
What sets their incredibly fluffy, pillow-soft and melt-in-the-mouth pancakes apart from its competitors is that each pancake is created using a precise recipe.
Plus, these kiseki or ‘miracle’ pancakes are so delicate such that you won’t even need a knife to enjoy the artisanal treat. As part of the FLIPPER’S signature experience, the soft and airy pancakes will be served with two forks.
Look forward to a menu of both sweet and savoury favourites which include six soufflé pancake flavours:
- Original Kiseki Pancake Plain
- Hazelnut Chocolate
- Matcha Azuki
- Millennial Strawberry (for a limited time only, until 30 November)
- Fresh Fruits
- Savoury Eggs Benedict
In celebration of the café’s opening, the Millennial Strawberry—an exclusive seasonal special—will be available on the menu for a limited time only, until 30 November.
