Head lice is more annoying than harmful. But good hygiene and proper treatment can prevent it from breeding and persisting.
"I was at such a loss I even thought about shaving the kids hair off until I finally found a cure."
Head lice are tiny parasites that live on the scalp. They lay their eggs (nits) near the base of the hair shaft. Head lice spread quickly in school and child care environments because kids often work and play closely and share personal items.
“They are extremely hard to get rid of. Pesticides, shampoos don’t work on them and a lot of other home products, home treatments don’t work either.”
Warning: This video shows an extreme case of head lice infestation on this child. Not for the faint hearted!
