Singapore, 18th June 2020 – In response to the rapid changes taking place across the fashion industry, Textile and Fashion Federation (TaFF) will be launching an e-commerce platform, OneOrchard.Store (oneorchard.store ), to tackle the current challenges and present an opportunity for sustenance within the Singapore retail market. The platform is expected to debut on 19th June 2020 and will feature a diverse range of locally-based designers from emerging to established labels.
Aimed to aggregate and galvanise locally-based brands to market, seeks to showcase and facilitate exposure of these designers locally, regionally and globally, contributing to a sustainable retail ecosystem. The curated platform introduces contemporary designers and innovative businesses in Singapore, as well as allowing entrepreneurs to be one step closer to shoppers through the concept of ‘discovery’.
Shoppers can expect a seamless user journey through an intuitive digital experience, bringing ease and convenience to continue supporting local businesses. TaFF has thoughtfully chosen an extensive portfolio of homegrown talents to showcase on the platform, ranging from womenswear to accessories and childrenswear. Customers can anticipate brands such as Adrian Furstenberg, Ans.ein, Bells & Birds, Carrie K, Forbidden Hill, GINLEE Studio, Hher, Josee P, Ling Wu, Minor Miracles, OETEO, Plain Supplies, Quintessential, Ranee of Sarawak, r y e, Shirt Number White, The Form, Top Middle Base (nena), Weekend Sundries, Ying The Label and more.
Following the OneOrchard.Store initiative, TaFF recently conducted a Consumer Sentiment Survey within the community to further understand how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the consumer’s spending behaviour and its implications to the retail industry in Singapore. One of the key findings from the survey is the popularity of shopping on label eCommerce platforms amongst respondents. As the association’s mission is to raise the visibility of local fashion brands and businesses at home and overseas, this further affirms the need to create an alternative sales channel for home-grown fashion and lifestyle brands. Other key findings include “Local brands are just as popular as foreign brands and an overwhelming 86% will make a repeat purchase of a local brand” and “Consumers across all age and income groups are almost equally likely to buy local”. More information can be found on the website https://taff.org.sg/.
Jiayi Wong, a spokesperson of TaFF commented, “The launch of OneOrchard.Store is an essential step in the development of our long-term commitment in boosting the local fashion industry and promoting the local retail ecosystem. In support of the recovery and the opening of physical retail, we hope this platform can complement those efforts and carry on working towards building a sustainable retail landscape.”
