A woman was found dead at ITE College Central car park in Ang Mo Kio, on 19 July 2018. She was allegedly stabbed to death by her ex-husband.
Police have classified the case as murder.
School Director Allegedly Stabbed to Death in Singapore
According to The Straits Times, the victim is Madam Low Hwee Geok, 56, who was ITE's exams division director. Police were alerted to the incident at about 7:40 pm.
Gruesome pictures which first surfaced on social media showed Madam Low's body in a pool of blood, lying between a blue car and a black car. A man in a black shirt was also seen on the floor, drenched in blood.
The 66-year-old man is seriously injured, and has been taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. According to media reports, he may have stabbed himself.
ITE recently posted about the incident on Facebook, "We are saddened by a tragic incident that took place at a car park at ITE College Central on the evening of 19 Jul 2018. As the police is investigating, we are unable to comment further."
Police are currently investigating the incident.
Some students have reported fearing for their safety. They have been asked to stay away from the car park, despite the absence of any apparent threat.
ITE has meanwhile, clarified that, "This is an isolated incident, and we would like to assure parents, students and the public that our campus is safe for students, staff and members of the public.”
In light of these tragic events, Mr Ang Wei Neng, a member of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Education, has said, "It is sad that such a tragic incident has happened in the school compound.
"We hope that the management of ITE College Central can act quickly and decisively to enhance the security of the college to assure parents, students and staff of their safety."
