You don’t need a cape to be a super hero; but it certainly won’t hurt to have your Spidey suit on!

Early last month, when he visited Singapore for promoting Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland also brought some cheer to his young fans at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH), Singapore.

And, he called it the highlight of his Singapore trip! (Such a good hearted boy, this, we are melting already!)

Holland, the third actor in 15 years to play Spiderman, apparently told Channel NewsAsia, “It really does cheer up these kids. We met this one kid yesterday with his Spider-Man pyjamas on and he was the highlight of my trip! It was so lovely to meet him and he was so excited. We gave him a little Spider-Man doll.”

Obviously, this young man is taking his super hero responsibilities quite seriously, and is bent on making a difference to the world, “If I can bring happiness to people all around the world, then I will try my best to do so. And I think one of the most important places to do that is in a children’s hospital, especially being Spider-Man. It really is a film for them (children) and if we are able to do that then I’ll continue to do so.”

And guess what, he loved Singapore! Channel NewsAsia quotes him as saying, “This is probably one of the coolest places I’ve been. I love it here. I’m definitely going to come back here on holiday!”

All of 21, this hero also seems to be amazingly level headed, considering all the fame that has been thrust upon him. He tells Channel NewsAsia, “Fame is a beast that you can’t control or be prepared for. But I’m lucky that I have friends who have been through this, who are open to giving me advice.”

Apparently, Holland is contracted to do 6 Spider-Man films, so hopefully he’ll be using his ‘super powers’ to brighten many more lives all over the world; especially little lives badly in need of inspiration, encouragement and miracles.

Real heroes after all, are made, not born.
