The famous giraffe ‘Sophie’ has been part of French babies’ lives for more than 40 years.  In 2010, 816,000 Sophie giraffes were sold in France, and 828,000 babies were born, meaning that nearly every French newborn got one.

Slender, flexible, and soft, baby can squeeze and chew her in complete safety. Lovable and amusing, she laughs when her body is squeezed. The toy giraffe, made of 100% natural rubber and food paint, is a sensory development toy that has a lightweight, soft, easy to grasp body. Her happy expression also seems to appeal to the little ones who are writhing in pain.

Celeb parents that love Sophie the Giraffe include Sofia Coppola, Dennis Quaid, Kate Hudson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Debra Messing, Isla Fisher, and Nicole Richie.

While expensive for a teether, for those few hours of bliss – that price tag might be worth it for this toy/teether all in one!
