Yannick Vicente has always loved drawing. But his 4-year-old daughter Anaé has taught him to love art even more.
“I always drew but I never took drawing lessons,” he tells theAsianparent. “I like to draw every time I can. I am also a school teacher for children who are 7 years old and in class, I often draw for my students.”
The latest additions to his stunning portfolio are heartwarming illustrations which depict his day-to-day life as a single dad.
Barely a month since he started sharing them on social media, comments started pouring in from all over the world. The overwhelming reception, admits Yannick, has been both surprising and humbling.
Aside from these aww-inspiring drawings, Yannick has also illustrated a variety of children’s books.

At the heart of the project—more than gaining exposure for his work— is a desire to simply make special things for his adorable daughter who loves the drawings as much as his growing number of fans and followers do.
“I accept [being single] and I find in my daughter all the love I need,” he tells theAsianparent.
But, Anaé’s mum is not completely out of the picture. In fact, the two remain close.
“We have a good relationship. She’s a great mum,” reveals Yannick. “We discuss a lot about Anaé’s education; we talk about everything and nothing.”
And despite their romantic relationship not working out, they remain close friends. “It’s important to me that our relationship is good despite the past failures.”
As for the most valuable lesson he’s learned from his little one, he tells us simply: “My daughter taught me to be a dad . Anyone can be a father but it takes someone special to be a daddy.”
“She is my sunshine every day and an endless source of inspiration.”
