A woman, presumably a mum, was recently caught stealing at a Singapore mall with her young son by her side.

According to Mothership.sg, the incident happened at Hougang Mall on Thursday, Nov. 16, at around 7 pm.

The shop owner at Hougang Mall PLAYe did realise that something was fishy when he heard the sensor alarm go off, but as he was busy attending to customers, he couldn’t react in time to stop the miscreant from escaping.

He later viewed CCTV footage of the incident and it revealed the truth.

He decided to upload the video on Facebook to nab the culprit (the video has since then been removed).

The video showed a mum checking if the coast was clear, before helping herself to at least 2 PlayStation 4 (PS4) game discs. A young boy around 6 years of age is seen with her.

The duo are then seen quietly making their way out of the store without paying.

Apparently, the two discs are worth around S$132.

Shop owner Desmond Phang told Mothership.sg that he managed to track down the mum and she paid him through fund transfer that night.

He decided not to make a police report because, “Shop theft is very common in retail shops. I just want them to pay and settle that’s all. You make police report also no use.”

All we want to say is, stealing is bad and breaking the law. But doing it in front of your young, impressionable kids is definitely a big no-no!
