The 2020 Pokémon Oceania International Championships were held in Melbourne, Australia over the weekend.
The young Singaporean battled it out with opponent, Justin Miranda-Radbord—who is twice her age—in the Junior Championships grand final for Pokémon Sword and Shield, on 23 February 2020.
It was Simone’s first major tournament, according to Mashable.
Despite being a relatively new trainer, she eventually beat Justin who had previously won multiple International championships as well as last year’s Oceania title. She even won cash money for herself.
About her victory? That shy smile on Simone’s face tells it all. Her friend also came to give her a hug.
Absolutely priceless.
Simone also thanked her friends, family and coach while clutching her Eevee plush during an interview of her win, according to Mashable.
And not to forget Simone’s eevee, who was like a pillar of support during the competition.
One of the most competitive video games that the internet has ever seen, Simone has garnered herself quite a few fans who totally ‘ship’ her.
Congratulations to Simone once again for her victory!
