The PSLE written examinations are now over, which means the next step for parents and students is to finalise their school choices. To help you decide which school to apply to, we’ve made a list of secondary school open house dates in Singapore for 2021.
After the PSLE results are tentatively out between 22 and 26 November 2021, you will only have seven days to submit your final secondary school choices.
Since this is too short of a time to discuss where your child will go, this list will help you start as early as now to look into possible school choices. Read on to find out everything you need to know about secondary school open house dates this 2021.
What To Consider When Choosing A Secondary School

Before we go through this list of secondary schools in Singapore, there are a few things you should consider while shortlisting a secondary school:
1. Your child’s PSLE score
As the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) advises, it is best to include at least two or three schools where your child’s PSLE score is better than the school’s cut-off point. You only have a set number of schools to pick, so choose wisely!
2. Knowing your child’s strengths and needs
As a parent, you should take the time to get to know your child’s interests as well as their strengths and weaknesses. This could help in looking for a school that would be able to cater to your child’s needs.
Since we all want the best for our children, choose a school that can recognise your child’s potential and help them grow academically as well as a person.
3. Location
Of course, it’s always preferable if the school’s location is accessible to where you live. You should consider looking at secondary schools that are within your area.
It is also important to look into what your child’s transportation options are and how accessible the school is to you in case of emergencies.
4. School fees
Apart from everything else, you should also think about financial considerations. This is especially significant, if your child wants to go to an independent school.
