Disciplinary action has been taken against three schoolgirls fighting at a public car park in a viral video, said the Ministry of Education (MOE). 

The video of the schoolgirls fighting at a multi-storey car park within a housing estate has been circulating on messaging platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram.

In the 30-second footage, two girls were seen hitting and kicking another student in a blue school uniform. Another student was seen watching on the sidelines as the commotion was happening.

The girl in blue uniform had her hair pulled and was thrown to the ground. She received blows to the head and kicks on her body. A kick even landed on her face.

It is unclear what happened to the girl after filming was cut.

Disciplinary Action Taken Against Three Students Fighting 

On Tuesday, 18 January, an MOE spokesman said, “The school is aware of the incident and has taken educative actions, including counselling the students involved and engaging their parents.”

The name of the school was not disclosed by MOE. No information was also provided on when and where the fight took place.

Regarding the incident, MOE said in their statement, “We take a serious view on acts of violence and appropriate disciplinary actions have been taken. We note that the police are investigating the matter.”

The police have also confirmed that a report was filed and investigations are ongoing.
