Did you know that cross food contamination is largely caused by wrong food handling? Well, aside from eating raw meat, of course!

Many times, households use the same pair of scissors to cut both raw and cooked food. And the same scissors to cut vegetables. This can cause the spreading of bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus toxin, which plays a large part in food contamination.

With 3M’s new Scotch Titanium Kitchen Scissors, everyone can adopt careful food handling and in return, prevent cross food contamination. Designed with food preparation hygiene in mind, the latest addition to the collection is colour-coded, unveiling different pairs for raw and cooked food respectively.

The Non Stick Oil Repelling Titanium Coated and Detachable Blades of the new scissors are treated using 3M’s patented Titanium coating process. In addition to making the blades rust-resistant, it enhances the strength of the blades to be 4 times stronger than stainless steel, enabling the scissors to cut through meats and even soft bones with ease while retaining its sharpness.

They also come with the ability to detach the two blades to enable an easier and thorough clean. The high corrosion resistant blades also repel oil and hard water stains, preventing bacteria build-up and requiring only a simple clean-up after use.

The new Scotch Titanium Kitchen Scissors also have soft comfort streamlined handles to help relieve stress on fingers after cutting for a prolonged period. It can also be used as a bottle-opener.
