Love is real, folks! Former ‘90s teen stars Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. recently celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary, and the two are still madly in love.

Last Thursday, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress shared a throwback photo on Instagram to greet her hubby, writing, “You stole my heart, so I got my revenge and took your last name!!”

The two first met shooting the 1997 movie I Know What You Did Last Summer, and became friends. It wasn’t until three years later that the two went on their first date — by accident.

“We had made plans for dinner with a mutual friend and the person canceled,” Gellar told People. “We decided to have dinner anyway and never looked back.”

“She knew the kind of guy I was, I knew the kind of girl she was, and the trust part didn’t have to be earned because it already was,” Prinze told The Huffington Post. “We were fortunate enough to be at the right times in our lives where we both wanted something serious and it worked. So we’re lucky, but we also work very hard at it. It’s not just dumb luck, it’s work.”

The two were engaged in 2001 and a year later were married in a beautiful wedding in Mexico. They now have two children: Charlotte Grace, 9, and Rocky James, 4.

What’s their secret to a happy marriage?

“I cook and clean,” Prinze, now a cookbook author, continued. “Fellas, if you cook and clean, at the end of the night, when you’re ready for what you’re ready for, there’s no, ‘Ah, I’m too tired babe. I just can’t do it.’ You cook and clean, you want to watch the game after? She says yes. You want to play ‘Grand Theft Auto’ online? She says, ‘Yeah, why don’t you play “Grand Theft Auto.”‘ And if you want some loving, she always says yes.”

“We communicate,” Gellar told Health. “That’s my secret. It’s not a secret, but it’s how I handle all my good relationships, whether they’re male-female or not. If you bottle things up, it explodes on you.”
