Mums and dads, do your little ones love to drink Ribena? If yes, please be aware of this Ribena product recall in Singapore that was issued yesterday (Tuesday, 15 July).

The distributor of Ribena, Suntory Beverage & Food Singapore, has voluntarily recalled batches of four of its concentrate products in the island.

According to news reports and The Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA), a faulty bottling machine had been discovered during a regular quality check in the manufacturing facility in Malaysia, which allowed air to enter certain (random) bottles during the bottling process.

This means that the concentrate in the affected bottles might go bad before the listed expiry date.

This announcement follows a similar recall of the same product in Malaysia just a few days ago.

Suntory is reported by The Straits Times as saying that despite not every bottle being affected, “consumers are advised not to drink the product if it appears unusual, tastes or smells sourish or if they are in doubt of the quality of the product.”
