One of the many challenges parents face on a daily basis is making sure their kids brush their teeth.
Not only do they have to do a good job brushing, I’ve just learned that kids should brush their teeth for at least 2 minutes for best results.
So as you would imagine, I was pleasantly surprised when I heard that technology can now make this process somewhat easier and more enjoyable for both kids and their parents.
I am of course talking about the Oral-B stages toothbrush for kids.

An app to encourage kids to brush their teeth?
Upon trying out the Disney Magic TimerTM app with our kids, I felt that the kids brushed their teeth for longer since the app has an alarm that rings after two minutes.
Added to this, quite amazingly our kids started looking forward to brushing time – they didn’t consider it a chore anymore. That meant less nagging on my part to get them to brush their teeth!
This was especially evident with our little boy who really disliked brushing his teeth, but now he insists on brushing his teeth with the Magic Timer app running close by.
What my kids found most motivating were the rewards they got when they stuck to their brushing routines. Kids can earn stickers as they go, and this really keeps them interested and inspired to keep doing a good job with their oral hygiene.
