Way before the births of Prince George and Princess Charlotte, there was one royal baby who won the hearts of the world: their grandfather, Charles, Prince of Wales.

Back in 1949, the heir to the throne of England, was just a little tot learning to walk.

With the rare footage of this ‘toddler throwback’ released by Clarence House (the official residence of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall), the public has been left swooning over how cute Charles was.

It starts of with a baby Charles excitedly trotting along as his mum, Queen Elizabeth II held up a tray of blocks in front of him.

The rare footage was released in celebration of Mother’s Day in the U.K. “Today, we’re sharing this video of The Queen and The Prince of Wales having fun at home in 1949. Happy #MothersDay!”, says the tweet’s caption.
