So, the PSLE 2017 written examinations are right around the corner and with this, PSLE results 2017 are also on our mind. As we gear up for this year’s exams, let’s take a look at some commonly asked questions and things you need to know:

  • PSLE 2017: Written examination time table

The PSLE 2017 written examinations start on September 28 and end on October 4. Below is the examination table:

  • What happens if the child falls sick during the PSLE and does not sit the examination?

In case the child falls sick, and is unable to attend the exams, you should submit the relevant medical documents to the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) through the school.

  • What happens to my child’s results if she can not turn up for the examination?

Your child will be given the grade, “Ungraded”, for those subject(s) that she has missed during the PSLE.

  • Is correction fluid/tape allowed?

It is advised not to use correction fluid/tape in the examinations because it may affect the legibility of scripts.

It can also damage the answer scripts in some cases (if they need to be scanned), or cause the pages to stick together.

  • Where can I find the list of approved dictionaries for PSLE 2017?

  • Can more than one calculator and/or dictionary be brought into the examination hall?

Candidates may bring in more than one calculator and e-dictionary(approved by SEAB) for national examinations.

  • How is the Subject T-Score computed?

where x is the candidate’s mark for the subject Q m is the average mark (mean) scored by all the candidates s is the spread of the marks around the average mark (standard deviation)

  • How is the Aggregate T-Score calculated?

The Aggregate T-Score is calculated by adding all the T-Scores for the examinable subjects taken by the candidates.

  • What are the dates for the 2017 PSLE Marking Exercise?

The 2017 PSLE Marking Exercise is scheduled from 19 to 24 October 2017. All primary schools will be closed during this period to facilitate the conduct of the PSLE Marking Exercise.

  • Can someone be authorised to collect the PSLE results  2017 on my child’s behalf?

Yes, you can, as long as you inform the school in advance, and confirm the arrangement with the school.

  • Can I make an appeal for a review of my child’s PSLE results 2017?

Yes, you may appeal for a review of results through the school immediately after obtaining the results. The appeal must be submitted to SEAB through the school by the closing date. There will be an appeal fee for each subject.

The process for review of results usually takes one month.

  • My child has lost her PSLE Certificate. How can I get a replacement certificate?

The PSLE Certificate is only issued once. If you have lost the PSLE Certificate, you can purchase a “Statement of Results” from the Ministry of Education Customer Service Centre at 1 North Buona Vista Drive, Singapore 138675.

The operating hours are from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm (Mon-Fri) and 8:30 am to 12:30 pm (Sat). The contact number is 6872-2220.

The “Statement of Results” costs S$10.00 per copy. A levy of S$2.00 and S$5.00 will be charged if you would like the Statement of Results to be mailed to your local address or overseas address respectively.
