Workers’ Party chief Pritam Singh has become a father for the second time, to a baby girl.
He shared the happy news in a Facebook post on Aug 17. In the post, he revealed how the baby was delivered through an emergency C-section.
“I was afraid. For my wife, my unborn child and the consequences that could follow,” he shared.
Pritam Singh Welcomes Second Daughter
Aljunied GRC MP Pritam Singh revealed that doctors suspected something wrong during a routine scan on 3 Aug 2018, 2 weeks before his wife’s expected date of delivery.
He writes, “Within minutes of the scan, everything changed. The baby was in distress and an immediate emergency Caesarian was ordered.
“I was afraid. For my wife, my unborn child and the consequences that could follow.
“I don’t usually pray in times of crisis as I think of prayer as a constant act. But when you are gripped with fear, prayer inevitably comes to you. And so I prayed.”
Thankfully, all went well and today, mummy and baby are doing fine.
“Today, I am a proud husband of a wonder woman who went through an ordeal and came out tougher than ever and a proud father of two beautiful girls,” writes Pritam Singh, whose older daughter is now three.
“Two beautiful girls who will push themselves to the fullest and live fulfilling lives.
“Two beautiful girls who will hold firm to the values of humanity and spirituality.
“Two beautiful girls who will not settle and pursue excellence.
“Here’s to all fathers raising strong women everywhere!”
