An open house is a school event where it opens doors to the public so that they can learn about how the institution works as well as the environment. It is also when students, teachers, and even parents meet for the first time so that they can have a bond.
Here are some things you can do first before attending the school’s open house:
- Talk to your child – It is important to talk to your child first so you can know your child’s interests and needs. You can also ask what worries them most when they attend primary school for the first time. Let them say their strengths and weaknesses so you can guide them properly.
- Tell them things about the school – You can tell your child different factors that may affect their experience inside the school. Be realistic about the circumstances your child may stumble upon, this way your little one can know what to do during this situation.
- Consider many schools – The more you check on different schools the more opportunities for you to find the best. You can explore this together with your child and find at least 5 schools that may be good for your kid.
- Learn about the open house schedules – Be knowledgeable about the programs, schedules, and where a school open house will take place. This will give you some time to prepare the things when you finally attend one.
