Ng Sock Kuin, 37, approached the victims around the island and pretended she needed money for medical expenses as she was pregnant between April and June this year.

She lied to the unsuspecting victims about her pregnancy and that she was experiencing a miscarriage in at least 5 instances, a District Court heard today.

She pleaded guilty today to six cheating charges with six others taken into consideration.

Ironically, while pleading for leniency, Ng said she committed the offences as her father was ill and needed money to pay his medical expenses.
