Lately, it’s quite common for mothers to express their feelings as soon as they find out they’re pregnant again after giving birth. There are cases where people have already planned, either by taking pills or using protection, but they still get pregnant, and even worse, there are those who are determined to abort the child. Here, we want to share a true story to motivate expectant mothers not to feel stressed out over this situation.
When you see a newborn child, it seems like yesterday that you just walked into the delivery room. You still remember the pain you went through, and your body is still in the process of recovering. But now you need to be ready to welcome a new member into the family.
When you got pregnant in a state of unpreparedness
According to a true story shared by a Facebook user (name withheld), after giving birth to her third child, she continued to take contraceptives as usual. The type of protection she used was not specified, but she believes each of the methods of family planning has its own risks and levels of effectiveness.
Because she has been using contraception, she is so confident that she will not get pregnant again after giving birth. But who knows the power of God, even if you have used any kind of protection? If God wills it, it will be.
At first, I didn’t get my period; I thought it was normal because the hormones after giving birth had changed. I experienced that with my previous children, so I just didn’t think too much of it.
It’s just that every month I weigh myself, and I find it strange because the weight keeps increasing. My appetite has also increased, and my husband suspects that I am pregnant. But I denied it. After discussing, I used the pregnancy kit to be sure, and behold the double line. I can’t believe it; it’s impossible to get pregnant, right?
My stomach looks bloated, and I’m starting to think about abortion
After the first test, I just let the matter pass until, after 3 months, my menstrual cycle did not start. I go through life as usual, until one day a colleague asks me. “Why do you have a bloated stomach like that?” Yes, my belly is bloated, and it feels different.
Even when I use a body shaper, my stomach is still visible, and I always feel bloated. I did the pregnancy test again, and this time the double line was brighter, and I immediately told my husband that the test was right and it was not damaged.
After finding out I was pregnant again after giving birth, I really felt down. My husband and I felt depressed, and I feel like I want to abort the baby. But I came to my senses quickly—why did I reject what God gave us?
Then my brain starts to scramble. Can I take care of this child fairly? At that time, my husband was thinking about finance, and I had to make sure he saw the bright side of things.
I started to think about my youngest child. I feel bad for him. I’m scared that I won’t be able to handle my children since they were born close apart. A one-year-old still needs attention and love.
After prayer and giving this some thought for a while, my husband and I remain positive again. We are confident in God’s plan and leave everything to Him. We went to a private clinic and did our first scan to see how many months I had been pregnant. Apparently, the baby is about 5 months old and perfectly healthy too.
When I go to the health clinic to open the pink book, I get yelled at, but I just keep quiet. Because the nurse didn’t understand our situation, I just kept quiet and didn’t answer what she was saying.
It ends well for us
When I’m about to give birth, everything I was worried about during my pregnancy, God has shown me. He made my third child very understanding, even though he was only a year old. Easy to follow, not fussy, and not jealous of the sibling.
Although my child is still a toddler, it seems that she is ready to be a big sister. My pregnancy was smooth too, as if he understood the situation of his parents. Yes, God helped. Rizq comes in even when my husband works by himself.
So take this as a lesson and don’t worry if you get pregnant again, even if you take contraceptives. You need to have complete faith in God’s plan. He knows what is best for us and will not give us something we cannot afford.
