First of its kind

The Serangoon Public library separates itself from the rest of the libraries in Singapore by integrating learning and gaming. The library, which was opened on 11th March 2011, makes reading come alive by having a gaming area to complement its books.

To appeal to the young, the National Library Board introduced a Digital Media Zone where gaming kiosks are located. This is to make reading relevant in the digital age. For example, you can read all about the fighter planes of World War Two at the library, and even fly one of those mean machines. The four game stations at the 1,635 square metres Public Library will allow you to do just that. It will be the first public library to have a special focus on educational gaming.
