31-year-old Jessica Simpson with Eric Johnson, 32, welcomed a 9 pound, 14 ounce baby girl into the world. They posted on Jessica’s official site: “Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson.
“We are so grateful for all the love, support and prayers we have received. This is been the greatest experience of our lives.”
A name to remember?
Maxwell Drew is what they named the bundle of joy. We must say that this is not a conventional girl’s name. Funny lady Kathy Griffin said: “I get nervous about the inappropriate celebrity baby names, but, I actually approve.” She added if they were to shorten her name by any variation, “The nickname Maxi does remind me of a feminine napkin or a long dress that was popular in Gloria Steinem’s era, but Max I can live with. Believe me, she would’ve heard from me if it was a fruit or a vegetable or a kind of wallpaper or whatever these crazy celebrities are doing.”
Another celeb also commented on the name, Holly Robinson Peete wrote: “For real, I am crushing on Jessica Simpson’s baby girl’s name Maxwell! Then again, I named my girl Ryan. I love boys names for girls.”
But why Maxwell Drew?
Simple. It’s all in the family. Daddy’s middle name is Maxwell and Drew is Jessica’s mom’s maiden name. So there we go—a little of daddy and granny in the name.
