2. Redmart
Get everything you need from redmart.com.
Besides frozen food and meats, Redmart is one of the largest grocery stores online with over 5,000 items. They have everything from dry food stuffs like noodles, cooking condiments, baking ingredients, canned food, baby food, fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products, alcohol and household supplies.
Prices are reasonable and comparable to what you would find in supermarkets like NTUC. Delivery is free for orders about $75 (if not a flat fee of $7 is charged) and you earn Redmart Credits for every purchase you make, which can be used to offset your future purchases. For first time purchases, you can get 30% off if you pay with a Standard Chartered Bank credit card (promotion until 31 Mar 15).
By keying in your postal code on the main page, you will be informed right away what the earliest delivery slot is. What a great convenience!
3. Your usual supermarket
Even your favourite local supermarkets offer you the option of shopping online!
Whether you currently shop at Cold Storage, NTUC, Sheng Siong or Giant, you’d be pleased to know that these supermarket chains ain’t missing out on the online delivery business. In the past year or so, they have ramped up on their online grocery delivery platform. Just think of it, the whole inventory of the supermarket is available to you with the click of a button!
Your order histories are also stored for easy re-ordering of the same items in future. The same credit card promotions and reward points that you usually enjoy instore are also available to you when you order online.
Of these, currently Sheng Siong is the most customer-friendly option as they offer free delivery for orders above $70. They also offer same-day delivery service if you place an order at least 3 hours before the last available timeslot (8-10pm).
Both Cold Storage and Giant charge a delivery fee of $7 for orders above $60 and $12 for orders below that amount. NTUC Fairprice charges $7.49 for orders below $60 and $10.70 for orders above $60. If you order before 11am, Giant will be able to deliver your groceries to you on the same day whereas for Cold Storage and NTUC Fairprice, any orders made can only be delivered the next day at the earliest. Ouch. But if you consider the time and petrol saved for a trip to the supermarket, it is probably worth more than $7-12.
