Researchers have found that the season in which you are born may affect various aspects in your life — from your eyesight to your eating habits and overall health later in life. It could also affect your chosen career to even your attitude!

Throughout the year, women get different amounts of solar light, according to scientists from Semmelweis University in Budapest. A lack of solar light may even influence a child’s development in the mother’s womb.

Also, the birth month influences the level of dopamine and serotonin — chemicals responsible for the happiness and feel good hormones — which is “detectable even in adult life”. It makes scientists believe that they may have a longer-lasting effect on personality types to even “developing certain mood disorders”.

1. They could either be a Libra or a Scorpio

Do you wonder why people of the same month can exhibit totally different characteristics?

That’s because they could be of a different horoscope. The astrological signs for October birthdays are Libra (September 23 – October 22) and Scorpio (October 23 – November 21).

Libras are generally very peace-loving people and they find balance in compromising. With that, they also tend to get a bad rep for being indecisive / choosing a side, when all they want to do is keep the peace. 

On the other hand, Scorpios tend to be more direct, assertive and passionate. Honesty is a big deal to them. So if you want to stay in their good graces, be honest and direct with them. 

2. They are more prone to contracting asthma

In a study conducted by Columbia University scientists, it is found that those born in October may have greater chances of being affected by asthma. Just to be on the safe side, mums and dads, you might want to take note of this.

3. They probably aren’t born on Halloween

Interestingly, a study by researchers at the Yale University School of Public Health found that fewer women go into labour and give birth on Halloween. And the reason behind it could be due to the spooky associations. 

Besides, the researchers also found a 5.3 percent decrease in vaginal deliveries and a 16.9 percent decrease in caesarean births.

4. They tend to be more athletic

The University of Essex did a study on nearly 9,000 boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 16, while testing their stamina, strength, and cardiovascular fitness.

It found that October babies are more physically fit and athletic than those born in other months!

5. But they are also more likely to fall ill…

Take extra care, October babies! A study done by Columbia University Scientists found that October babies have the highest disease risk.

To be exact, 55 diseases that correlated with the season of birth — individuals born in October were at increased risk for respiratory conditions. But on the flipside, they are most protected from developing cardiovascular diseases.

6. Still, they are more likely to live till a ripe old age

Like… a 100 years old? Yes, according to the University of Chicago, it is said that those born between September and November are more likely to live to 100 than those born in other months of the year.

Scientists reason that (in countries with seasons) it could possibly be due to them not exposed to the seasonal infections or seasonal vitamin deficiency early in life that can cause long-lasting damage to a person’s health. 

And apparently, more centenarians were born in the autumn than in the spring, according to Leonid Gavrilov and Natalia Gavrilova, researchers at the same university.
