1,037 New COVID-19 Cases in Singapore With Death of 46-year-old Indian National

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed the 46-year-old male Indian national who died today (April 23) after being found motionless at a staircase landing at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital was Case 8190. new covid-19 cases

He was diagnosed with COVID-19 on April 19 and had been warded at the hospital. Police investigations into his death are ongoing.

New COVID-19 cases in Singapore as of 23 April

There are 1,037 new coronavirus cases in Singapore today.

Out of these, there are 25 cases in the community (21 Singaporeans and Permanent Residents), 30 cases involving work permit holders residing outside dormitories, and 982 cases of work permit holders residing in dormitories.

There are no imported cases and 36 more cases have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

Of the 1,368 cases who are still in hospital, most are in stable condition or improving. 26 are in critical condition, while 8,874 cases who are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19 are isolated and cared for at community facilities.

Of the new cases, 75 per cent are linked to known clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.

There are six new clusters at Blue Stars Dormitory, Hulett Dormitory, Seatown Dormitory, Woodlands Dormitory, 12 Loyang Drive and 59 Sungei Kadut Loop.
