The global plant-based meat industry will be worth $23.2 billion by 2024, according to market research company Euromonitor.
As consumers become more aware of health, animal welfare, and environmental concerns, there is a burgeoning demand for meat substitutes.
An advocate of sustainability, Nestlé Professional Singapore has set out to meet the increase in alternative-meat demand with its plant-based meat brand: HARVEST GOURMET®. Made with non-GMO soy, the plant-based meat range does not compromise on taste or texture and is a great source of protein.
HARVEST GOURMET® made its first debut in China circa December 2020 with Chinese-style products like kung pao chicken, braised pork belly, and more.
In Singapore, HARVEST GOURMET® introduces a range of five plant-based and meat-free alternatives to both red and white meat developed to complement Asian cuisine.
The range includes Schnitzel, Chargrilled Pieces, and SENSATIONAL™ Burgers, Stir Fry Mince and Ground Mince which are available at selected supermarkets, online grocery platforms this month.
All products are manufactured using advanced production technology perfected in Europe, with a strict system of ingredient selection and quality control in place.
Going Meatless with Plant-Based Burgers
Phat Fingers and RBL Burgers, both digital F&B brands created by a local food tech company and global digital restaurant group TiffinLabs, are two labels that incorporate HARVEST GOURMET®’s offerings to create their plant-based meat burgers.
Compared to other plant-based alternatives, HARVEST GOURMET®’s patties were rich in flavour, versatile, and easy to include in the current menu of the TiffinLabs’ R&D team. Due to its generous size, the patties are value-for-money as well.
Phat Fingers is a Korean fried chicken concept that offers tasty choices made with HARVEST GOURMET®’s plant-based offerings such as:
- Harvest Psy’s Chicken Burger (S$12.99): Find the crispy and juicy HARVEST GOURMET® Schnitzel in between fresh arugula and delectable kimchi slaw. There is also a generous glaze of Psy’s Soy Garlic sauce, made of soy sauce, finely chopped garlic, and fresh parsley.
- Harvest Sweet Seoulmate Burger (S$12.99): A holy matrimony of HARVEST GOURMET® Schnitzel with a sweet Honey Butter Me Up glaze, pickled cucumbers, creamy cabbage slaw, and house-made gochujang aioli. These ingredients are layered between two maple-glazed brioche buns.
- Harvest Gangnum Cheeseburger (S$12.99): The HARVEST GOURMET® Schnitzel once again makes an appearance in this umami-packed offering. It takes indulgence to the next level with seaweed bulgogi glaze, crunchy lettuce, melted cheddar cheese, sliced tomatoes, red onions, pickled cucumber, and house-made gochujang aioli!
- Harvest Nuclear Warhead Burger (S$12.99): One for the adventurous gourmand, the schnitzel is a mattress for the spicy Nuclear Warhead glaze (yangnyeom glaze with an added hit of ghost peppers). Grilled pineapple, creamy cabbage slaw, and house-made gochujang aioli also add an incredible depth of flavour to this tower.
Bold, indulgent, and rebellious, RBL Burgers makes its delicious plant-based burgers with halal-certified ingredients. The Sensational burgers series is its gift to burger lovers who love the planet! Its menu includes:
- Sensational Truffle Mushroom Cheeseburger (S$19.89): House-made truffle mayonnaise gives this offering a fragrant lift. The meat-free beef patty is layered with sautéed mushrooms, purple onions, and crisp lettuce, as well as a generous dose of the restaurant’s signature nacho sauce!
- Sensational Cheeseburger (S$18.89): Sink your teeth into this and know the meaning of bliss!
