Arrived on Thurs around 9pm to a&e with contractions between 8-10mins interval. Cervix check was 3cm. After waiting manage to transfer to delivery suite at around 1020pm. Observe until 1115pm and Dr said transfer me to ward cuz I don't seems to be dilating with regular contractions. Ask to be discharged but declined cuz 4th child can progress very fast.
Friday morning Dr check and said still 3cm. Contractions had died off. To wait 2pm for inductions. At 2pm still no delivery suite and they only able to do induction at the suite.
Finally at 6pm on Friday then the Dr came and said they clearing a room for the induction.
730pm had the pill insert for induce. Initially no pain nothing. Until 11ish when I wanna try and sleep start to feel contractions.
Started from 1 in every 8mins and quickly escalate to 1 in every 5mins. Supposed to insert 2nd indication pill at 130am, but nurse inform still no room. By the time got room was almost 3am. Did cervix check was 4cm but very good and regular contractions in 1 in 3mins.
Dr recommend to do epidural in case big baby need to cut. Then can better contain the whole situation. I also havent slept the whole day then I feel I should take epidural in case I got no mental strength due to sleep deprived.
4.09am epidural consent signed. Informed that last epidural took 45mins cuz say spine not straight. 4.25am start to administer epidural. Done in 10mins! Then did catheter and hubby arrive same time.
Around 5ish feel very painful even with epidural. Anesthesia came and check. Said maybe cuz of my position (too upright) the epidural all went to leg. So settle me lying down and add a boost of epidural. Start to feel better.
7.40am Dr check only 5cm and the contractions getting far apart slowly. Came at 8am to burst waterbag. About 9am felt extreme pain again. Ask hubby to ask the nurse to check after some time. Nurse say fully dilated. Started pushing at 925am and baby out in 10mins!
Thankful for the team of midwives and doctor. Now, the sleepless night began.
