High Tea at ANTI:DOTE: The Mother’s Day Edition
This year, pamper Mum with a carefully curated selection of sweet and savoury delights accentuated by Executive Pastry Chef Yong Ming Choong and Chef de Cuisine Jacky Lai’s contemporary flair, available in a special high tea set for the entire month of May.
Begin with signature bite-sized sandwiches, featuring ANTI:DOTE’s ASC Certified Smoked Salmon with Lilliput capers and Ikura Shoyu, alongside MSC Certified Boston Lobster with a local twist of fish otak and black pepper mayonnaise. Crafting the exquisite Boston Lobster sandwich demands a meticulous process spanning 5 hours, reflecting a profound commitment to culinary excellence. The lobster is first poached and later marinated with a homemade black pepper sauce that take 2 hours to cook. Fish otak is marinated and spread flat to steam before cut into desired shape after it cools. Indulge in the Salt Baked Beetroot Tartlet, a Granny Smith Apple Pie, and a Duck Rillette served as a blini with a cured egg yolk and green peas.
An essential part of the high tea experience are sweets that have been carefully curated to complement the extensive tea and coffee selection. Start with the Sakura Tea Raspberry Marmalade on a Genoa Sponge, followed by the Okinawan Sweet Potato Choux Puff served with coconut praline and the Matcha Tea cake with yuzu crémeux. Enjoy the Pecan Cookies paired with orange jam and the perfectly textured Calamansi Macaron. Enhance your experience with the rich Nespresso Diamond Praline, and admire the house-made diamond-shaped chocolates, a beautiful addition to the set. Guests can complement their high tea experience with a specially handcrafted cocktail, Mom’s Cake (S$22++), featuring Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Apple, spiced pear liqueur, green tea, and salted caramel syrup. For those who prefer a non-alcoholic creation, Mommy’s Calling ($12++) offers a harmonious mix of Lyre’s London Dry, apple juice, salted caramel syrup, vanilla bourbon tea, topped with a splash of refreshing rosemary soda.
Priced at $68++ per person, ANTI:DOTE’s Mother’s Day High Tea is available daily from 3pm to 5pm, and additionally, from 12pm to 2pm on Saturday and Sunday, from 1 to 31 May 2024, and includes a choice of two non-alcoholic beverages (mocktail, coffee, or tea). A special Children’s High Tea menu is also available, priced at $35++ per child and includes a choice of fruit juice, hot or iced chocolate.
Pristine Japanese Fare for Mums at Mikuni
Mikuni’s recently appointed Executive Chef, Masa Nakao, presents a five-course special lunch menu featuring an array of thoughtful creations that showcase the finest seasonal Japanese produce this Mother’s Day. The set menu begins with an amuse-bouche of Fresh Oyster perfectly complemented with fresh wasabi and capers. This is followed by the Mikuni Farmer’s Salad with a house-made dressing of Japanese leeks and small diced onions.
The main course features a choice of four delectable options: Ginger Hokkaido Shirakabaha Pork Loin or a beautifully grilled Japanese Lobster with Ise-Ebi Lobster Kinome Miso Yaki. Chef Nakao enhances the fresh flavours of the lobster by incorporating a homemade blend of miso mixed with shiso leaves. Alternatively, for steak lovers, there is the Teppanyaki Grill Miyazaki Sirloin with a $15++ supplement or the Teppanyaki Grilled Ohmi Tenderloin for an add-on of $30++.
The meal concludes with a choice of two rice options: the Uni & Ikura Don or the Toro, Botan Ebi, Kanpachi & Lobster Maki. Ending on a sweet yet refreshing note, indulge in a fresh Japanese Strawberry Shortcake.
Mikuni’s Mother’s Day Menu is priced at $138++ per person and includes a welcome glass of sparkling sake. The set is available from 10 to 12 May 2024.
“Menu per la Mamma” Brunch at Prego
Crafted under the careful direction of newly appointed Tuscan Chef Davide Bizzarri, Prego’s Mother’s Day “Menu per la Mamma” Brunch has been designed for the whole family. Expect an array of true Italian flavours that have been refreshed through Chef Davide’s culinary finesse.
Begin with abundant antipasti featuring an exquisite Salmone e Quinoa, succulent Polpo, Gamberi, and a flavourful classic Tuscan bread salad, Panzanella. Follow with Tuscan prosciutto, freshly made pastas and wood-fired pizzas, grilled meats, and seafood delights that remain true to Chef Davide’s style, paying homage to his upbringing in the Tuscan mountains and countryside while incorporating ingredients and flavours loved by local diners.
Standouts include the Tagliatelle al Ragù di Mamma Silva, where homemade tagliatelle is served in a beef and pork sausage ragù. The Paccheri features pasta with a local crustacean favourite – crab – served in a rich and creamy tomato sauce.
One of Chef Davide’s top choices is the Pizza Della Mamma, where the pizza dough recipe has been refined to create a light, crisp, and airy base. Topped generously with mozzarella, smashed potatoes, a house-made ricotta mousse, tomberry and decadent Avruga Caviar, it’s a fitting choice for the occasion.
The brunch includes a special selection for kids featuring a puff pastry pizza, pasta alfredo, chicken nuggets, sandwiches, and french fries. Finish on a sweet note with an array of house-churned gelatos from Prego’s Gelato trolley or a choice of eleven sweet treats from Mama Misu Espresso Ladyfinger Cookies to Prego’s Cheesecake with Gruyère Cheese Sauce; the desserts are a playful and contemporary take on classic flavours.
Prego’s Mother’s Day Brunch is priced at $108++ per adult and $54++ per child, inclusive of free-flow soft drinks and juices. Diners can add $55++ for 2.5 hours of free-flow prosecco, house wines, and beers or $75++ for 2.5 hours of free-flow champagne, house wines, and beers. The brunch menu is exclusively available on 12 May, 2024, from 12pm to 2.30pm.
