1. Encourage Realistic Thinking

It is essential that parents help their children understand that the assumptions or conclusions they have made could be far from reality. At the same time, it is equally important that parents help them reach the truth. Mentally strong kids are well-grounded in reality.

2. Focus on Effort Instead of Achievement

Parents must encourage and praise their children whenever they make an effort. But instead, parents often hold back praise until they achieve something. Avoid focusing solely on achievement and appreciate the effort your child is making. (Let’s admit it, mums and dads, we may have to learn this lesson first before we can teach it to our children.)

Parents must help their children understand that achievement is not the ultimate goal in everything. When children understand the importance of making an effort, they don’t fear failure.
