According to a recent statement posted up on the Medela website, the company is issuing a voluntary recall on all B-Well Steam Steriliser units that are sold worldwide. The B-Well Steam Steriliser can carry a potential risk of burn, fire or electric shock after it was discovered that moisture could potentially gather at the connection of the power cable and the steriliser unit itself.
Steriliser units that are affected
If you are currently using the B-Well Steam Steriliser with article numbers 008.0100 to 008.0104, 008.0121, 008.0287, kindly unplug the power cable immediately from the socket outlet and refrain from using it.

How to return the unit?
We contacted J&E Baby and Mothercare Pte Ltd earlier today for advice on this issue, as the company deals with the distribution of Medela products in Singapore.
According to the sales representative that we spoke to on the phone, customers with the Medela B-Well Steam Steriliser unit can head down to any Mum & Babes store in Singapore with their receipt and opt for the following : 1) To get a full refund or 2) Exchange for a Dr Brown’s sterilising unit.
The Medela B-Well Steam Steriliser unit was launched in 2012, but the manufacture defect of the product was only found out in early January 2014.
