An Indian adopted 3-year-old Texas girl has been allegedly missing ever since she was punished to stay out of the house at 3am for not finishing milk, according to the police.

The strange thing is that though the father came back in 15 minutes to check on her and found her missing, he still did not lodge a complaint till 8am in the morning.

Mathews, 37, was later arrested and charged with abandoning or endangering a child. He was released late Sunday after posting $250,000 bond, Perlich told the Chronicle.

Sherin Mathews was last seen wearing a pink top and black pajama bottoms outside of her home in Richardson, just north of Dallas, around 3 a.m. Saturday, local authorities said in a release. She has “developmental issues and limited verbal communication skills,” according to the authorities.

According to a copy of the arrest affidavit obtained by local television station, WFAA by huffingtonpost, the girl’s father told police that he knew coyotes had been spotted in the alley where he left his daughter. The home is also near railroad tracks.

“We’ve also gone through a lot of the neighbors’ backyards and we’ve gone through pools and things like that, too,” Perlich said. “We’re taking all those types of steps and checking and re-checking all of those types of places to make sure nothing has been missed.”

There’s no indication that an animal was connected in any way to the girl’s disappearance, despite Mathews’ statements to investigators, Perlich said. The most recent animal disturbance reported to authorities in the immediate vicinity involved a fox three years ago, he said.

Officials from Child Protective Services removed another child from the home, a 4-year-old girl who is Mathews’ biological daughter. She has been placed in foster care.

What length should you go to while disciplining your child

This incident makes us halt and think where we should draw the line in the name of discipline. We all must have encountered sometime or the other where our parents might have used harsh treatments for our own good, but somewhere has stayed back in one corner of our heart.

Here are 3 points that we can keep in mind while trying to discipline our children.

1) Reward than Punish

Rather than punishing your child each time when they do something wrong, ask them to do something right to get rewarded. Make your interactions affirmative so that they follow what you say and never take the negative impact of it. Sometimes a little authoritative fear works, but using it too much causes a fearful or a rebellious teenager.

2) No Comparison

If your own-self cannot be compared to your sibling or any other individual, how can you expect your child to be the same. Learn to encourage your child to compete self and achieve their own goals as every child has a different strength and way of being.

3) Practice what you Preach

If you fail to follow whatever you want your child to learn, there is no way your child will. Children learn the maximum through observation, in school and at home. Make sure do set a positive example to your kids so that they follow your footsteps and amplify them!
