Shift in Rain Band to Bring Less Rainfall
The shift in the rain band northwards, influenced by low-pressure systems in the western Pacific Ocean and the South China Sea, will result in reduced rainfall in Singapore and the surrounding region.
In the upcoming days, Sumatra squalls are expected to pass through, bringing widespread thundershowers and gusty winds during the mornings. These short-duration thundershowers will occur between late morning and afternoon, affecting certain areas of the island.
Rainfall Prediction
Residents of Singapore can anticipate below-average rainfall throughout the second half of July 2023. The overall outlook suggests that precipitation levels will be lower than usual during this period.
While the second half of July may see less rain, the total rainfall for the month is expected to be near average across most parts of Singapore. This indicates that overall, July's precipitation levels will align with historical averages.
As the second fortnight of July approaches, warm conditions will prevail in Singapore. Daily maximum temperatures will range between 32°C and 34°C. Hence, a possibility of reaching a high of around 35°C on one or two days.
Additionally, nights may also be warm, especially when the prevailing winds blow from the southeast or south, bringing warm and humid air from the sea.
Night-time temperatures of approximately 28°C can be expected during these periods, particularly in the southeastern parts of the island.
