Learn more about the LEAP Kids Programme at LEAP SchoolHouse

Kids are inquisitive little creatures and it’s such a pleasure feeding their curious and ever-growing minds –these are but some of the activities your kid can learn about in the LEAP Kids classrooms at LEAP SchoolHouse. They even get to eat the popcorn after.

LEAP SchoolHouse is a registered enrichment centre that caters to the literacy development of children between 8 months to 6 years of age. The LEAP Kids programme is a weekday programme, catering to 3 to 6 year olds. Young children are taught basic literacy in both English and Chinese.  Lessons in building numeracy skills, environmental and aesthetic awareness are also structured into the programme.

What makes learning fun at LEAP? Children engage in the process of learning by being part of the process. There is less emphasis on learning sheets and the small class size gives your child more quality time with the teachers. They are able to better understand the learning needs of young ones in their classes.

This does not mean that the LEAP Kids programme lacks rigour in the curriculum. In fact, Mrs. Esther Lim, the founder and curriculum director of LEAP SchoolHouse always ensures the learning process takes into account the pre-school education learning outcomes that are set out by MOE. This is supported through regular formative assessments carried out in class. A child’s performance is tracked on a termly basis and information on the children’s learning progress is then shared with parents.

Come 2012, the school will also be offering more in their LEAP Kids programme through immersing the young learners into enrichment activities like music, dance, speech & drama as well as sports and games throughout the week. The LEAP Kids programme is definitely one that is catered to ensure that success in learning and literacy development begins by creating Laughter, Engagement and Active Participation in the classrooms.
