Celebs — they’re just like us! We all know that having young children in the house equates to sleep deprivation, and so most of us try to squeeze in some of those precious z’s whenever we can. Veronica Mars alum Kristen Bell is no exception.

Bell and her husband, actor Dax Shepard, have two daughters: Lincoln, 3, and Delta,19 months. While promoting her new film Bad Moms, Bell told People about one morning when her family recently stayed in a hotel.

“I pretended to be asleep for probably 30 or 40 minutes”

“[My baby] woke up at 6 in the morning and my husband, the toddler and I all pretended to be asleep for probably 30 or 40 minutes,” the 36-year-old actress said.

“And finally, I hear the baby reaching towards my purse and going, ‘Mama, mama … bar, please, please. Bar.’

“I got up, handed her the Greens Bar—it’s a healthy bar she can eat—I opened it up, gave it to her in the crib and went back to bed. And we all woke up around 8.”

“In the age of social media, when you can edit your life in beautiful pictures, it’s important to remind moms that all of us are wearing yogurt and all of our hands smell like urine,” she said in Redbook‘s August issue. “When you present an unrealistic idea of perfection to people, it’s not fair.”

Dear moms: all of us do things we’re not proud of every now and then. Instead of beating yourselves up, do yourselves a favor and just accept that we all have our human moments. And that’s totally fine.
