Here is a reason to start planning a family
A research conducted by the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) revealed some interesting findings about marriage and having kids. According to the study, married couples last longer than those who just co-habit. But if they want their marriage to last really long, then they should have kids.
The study conducted by CDC involved 12, 571 men and women who were in relationships, either married or just co-habiting. They were between 14 and 44 years old. Statistics showed that 78 percent of the married respondents stayed together for longer than five years but only 30 percent of those who were co-habiting reached their fifth year together. However, it’s quite difficult to really rely on these numbers as CDC revealed that 51 percent of those who were just living together transitioned to marriage within three years into co-habiting.
The most interesting part actually lies in the other findings related to having kids. Those who were already expecting when they got married were less likely to reach their tenth year anniversary than those who got pregnant after the wedding. But surprisingly, those who have children are more likely to stay longer together than those who don’t. Thus, we can probably come down to just one conclusion: couples should have kids, but should wait to have them only after they are married.
So parents, if you’re starting to get impatient and frustrated with your kids, just remember that your little trasures are possibly part of the reason why you and your spouse have lasted this long, and will continue holding on for years and years to come.
