Artefact Highlights: Show and Tell

Travel back in time and learn more about how people from the 1980’s and 90’s lived in the little red dot. Through this online live stream, you can join a session about Singapore’s past currency series and electronics. A fun and informative activity that you can enjoy with the kids and help them learn a bit more about their country!
Museum Host volunteers of the National Museum of Singapore will talk you through the entire show too. So there is nothing you’ll miss out.

Timmy & Tammy: What Is Singapore?

The National Museum of Singapore has also prepared an interactive storytelling session for kids aged 5 to 10 years. This is a real treat for families to explore Singapore through the pages of the popular children’s book Timmy & Tammy: What Is Singapore?
Four interesting characters will be showcasing different objects that represent Singapore. After the storytelling session, families can expect fun activities prepared by these characters.

Watch a magical performance presented by the National Museum of Singapore that includes live music and puppet play. Things That Remain by MySuperFuture Theatrical Productions tells the story of Grandma’s cupboard filled with special treasures just waiting to be explored.

Do The Splits Risograph Workshop

Nurture your child’s artistic skills through this art workshop by the National Museum of Singapore. But instead of using the usual art materials, you get to learn to make colourful patterns through a risograph printing. This is a semi-analogue printing technique that creates prints with a unique textured effect.
Anyone can participate in this beginner’s workshop with the use of smartphones, tools on Adobe Photoshop and create your own artworks inspired by your experience during the Covid-19 pandemic.

A Landmark Story Family Scrapbooking Workshop

The school holidays are the perfect time to sharpen up your scrapbooking skills with the kids. With travel restrictions and the new safety management measures in Singapore, there aren’t that many opportunities to go outside with the whole family. But you can always reminisce on your past memories by making your own family scrapbook.
The National Museum of Singapore has prepared A Landmark Story Family Scrapbooking Workshop where you can compile photos of your past family activities around the island.
Once you’ve successfully registered, scrapbooking materials will be delivered to your address.

Home in the Museum: A Treasure Hunt

Go on an adventure at the National Museum of Singapore and help Dennis the Otter’s family find a new home! This self-guided activity will be a fun interactive activity with the kids where you get to meet the museum’s employees while also uncover the stories behind their works.
All you need to do is obtain your gallery admission ticket and bring along a mobile device with internet access to complete the treasure hunt!

A Time Immemorial Creative Workshop

Go through a tour of the WAS I HERE art installation conducted by artist Francis Ng, and learn more about the concepts of “presence, identity and space through taking Polaroid pictures and creating a 3D cast using plaster of Paris.”
This fun-filled afternoon will allow you and your kids to express their artistic skills. Remember that participants are encouraged to bring a small 3D personal object to create their final plaster of Paris cast.
