Located along Connaught Dr. and Esplanade Dr., Esplanade Park remains to be relatively unknown. Much less is known about the structures in the park – The Cenotaph, Lim Bo Seng Memorial and Tan Kim Seng Fountain. Recently gazetted as the new National Monuments, the Preservation of Monuments Board (PMB) brings us a series of exciting and enriching activities for the whole family to enjoy and learn more about these structures.
What is the Cenotaph? Who are Lim Bo Seng and Tan Kim Seng? Let the little ones learn more about Singapore in the past and during the war through the series of special kids activities PMB has to offer this weekend.
Come on a treasure hunt around the park to unravel little known facts about these memorials, be enchanted by the storytelling sessions and test your green fingers with craft activities using plants! On the evening of 11th June, enjoy the outdoor screening of the popular animation film, How to Train Your Dragon. Also don’t miss the Silent Precision Drill performances in front of the Cenotaph!
Pre-registration is required for some of the scheduled activities. Visit www.pmb.sg for further information.
