Mums, This Simple Hack Will Change How You Iron Forever!

Mums, This Simple Hack Will Change How You Iron Forever!

Hate ironing? Try this simple trick to save you time and stress!

My identity as a hot-mess mom is probably strongly tied to my wrinkly outfits. I loathe ironing clothes. As I’m swiping on eyeliner and trying to keep my toddler’s fingers out of the electrical sockets, I do not have time to wait for an iron to heat and slowly smooth out every little wrinkle in the fabric. So what do I do? I go out with wrinkles and I hope people think I **just** developed them from sitting in the car … or something.

But because I am likely pulling the day’s outfit out of the dryer anyway, what I do have time for is this genius hack I stumbled upon.

I was watching Hasan Minhaj’s “Patriot Act” on Netflix (OK, I was starting to doze off — cut me a break it was 9:30 p.m. on a Sunday) when I heard him spout an out-of-place line.

He was talking about the Sudan and Sudanese protests when he popped a little joke in about how you can toss ice cubes in the dryer to prevent wrinkles in clothing. Admittedly what he was talking about was FAR more important than that line, but I couldn’t help but wonder if it was true.

So I looked it up, and I’ll be, it is a thing!

Oh yes, my friends, it is real! And apparently when put to the test, it actually works, according to LifeHacker.

The key apparently is to toss a minimal amount of clothing and only a few ice cubes on the highest heat to basically steam wrinkles out.

Using too many clothes, too many ice cubes, and too many heavy fabrics (i.e. jeans), will all yield negative results. You also need to let it run for a full short cycle. So basically, it is perfect for date night — just throw your and your partner’s outfit in the dryer while you get ready and voilà! Wrinkle-free in no time.
