Q: Do typical insurance plans cover a miscarriage? What about a still birth?

A: Generally, most health insurance plans offered by life insurers do not provide coverage for miscarriage or pregnancy complications such as a still birth. However, there are medical plans that extend coverage for miscarriage or pregnancy complications after a pre-determined waiting period and in some Personal Accident plans, miscarriage due to an accident may be covered. Speak to your financial adviser representative. He/she will be able to make the recommendations based on your specific investment objectives, financial situation and particular needs.
