Restaurants at the two Ikea stores Alexandra and Tampines will reopen on Monday (29 June) after its closures due to the safe distancing measures put in place during the two-month circuit breaker period.
Ikea Restaurants to reopen on 29 June
The Swedish furniture retailer announced on Friday (27 June) that the Swedish Food Market and Bistro are now open, while the Ikea Restaurant will open next week "with safety measures in place."
"We are committed to opening in the safest way possible and as we slowly resume our food operations, we will be taking added steps to ensure the well-being of our customers and co-workers," the company said in a statement.
"For the time being, we will provide a selected menu, close our condiment stations and Bistro dining areas so as not to encourage crowding," it added.
Småland to remain closed
Meanwhile, Småland—Ikea's indoor playgrounds in both the Alexandra and Tampines branches—will remain closed until further notice.
Ikea's latest announcements come after its reopening last week (17 June).
Both its stores operate with strict safety measures in place including adjusted mall timings, safe distancing markers and limits in visitor capacity.
The Alexandra store will operate from 10am to 9pm from Sunday to Thursday, and 10am to 11pm on Friday and Saturday. The Tampines outlet will open from 11am to 9pm from Sunday to Thursday, and 11am to 11pm on Friday and Saturday.
IKEA will allow one person for every 10 sq m of gross floor area, as per government guidelines. SafeEntry, wearing of masks and temperature checks are also in place.
Meanwhile, the furniture giant continues to encourage customers to shop online or during weekends.
