Swedish furniture giant IKEA has recalled its MATVRÅ children’s bib in red and blue, citing a possible choking hazard.

Apparently, there is a risk for the button to come off if the child pulls at it. No known incidents have however been reported in Singapore.

Do note that MATVRÅ, fruit/vegetables pattern, in green/yellow are still safe to use, because they have a different material and design.

“However, we have received reports that the button on the MATVRÅ bib can come off and thus presents a choking hazard. No known incidents have been reported in Singapore.

“Emelie Knoester, Business Area Manager at IKEA of Sweden, explained in a statement saying, “It has come to our attention that there is a risk for the button to come off if the child pulls at it.

“The safety of customers is a top priority for IKEA, which is why we choose to recall the children’s bib MATVRÅ blue/red 2pcs, as a precautionary measure.

“The bibs with the same name, MATVRÅ, fruit/vegetables pattern, green/yellow, are safe to use due to different material and design.”
